Quality Improvement Studies
One of the most important organizational activities is involvement in quality improvement initiatives. Involvement in these initiatives demonstrates a commitment to making things better. To "assure" quality requires both constant vigilance and always looking for and studying ways to improve.
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) writes that quality improvement studies "are critical to fostering quality improvement in health care" - and, therefore, the NCQA has included such studies as an important element in its managed care accreditation survey process.
Quality improvement studies will help:
- evaluate the extent, severity and impact of a need or problem;
- assess and compare the effectiveness of various clinical or administrative approaches to resolution;
- identify areas for educational efforts;
- set performance goals; and
- track performance improvements.
None of these will happen, however, if the studies are not founded in solid data and research services work. Our data and research services experts have been involved in a variety of quality improvement studies.
It is important to convey a commitment to quality improvement - and working with HealthcareData Company gives you assurance that your commitment to those whom you serve will be realized.
When you work with HDC, you secure the involvement of a nationally recognized, licensed HEDIS audit firm - and the findings from HEDIS audits often drive the quality improvement studies.
